Hello, Dottie... Helloooo, Dottie!

Meet Dottie Bear.

27 inches tall, perfectly stuffed and oh! so! lovable! (not to mention adorable and made/inspired entirely from a Vintage Pattern) Dottie can handle being loved on, drooled on, spit-up upon, chewed on... entirely Baby Proof.... hmmm - she's sounding much like a lot of us MOMS!

I started sewing Dottie Bear last night and finished her today. (All sewing, of course, made on my Singer Featherweight 222K.) She is made out of 'Coated Fabric'... You can see another sample of what was made out of this identical fabric here. It is similar to oilcloth, but it feels softer to the touch. I believe this fabric to be around 54" - 60" wide (didn't take an exact measurement) and I paid $14.00 / yard. Where can you buy this oh-so-fabulous-fabric? Yes, it really is a gotta-have. I. LOVE. IT.

Welllllllllllllll, from one of our own. Yes, really and truly - one of "our kind"... Drumroll please....

Tam at Time For Twittering is going to be selling high-quality fabrics very soon. But, contact her if you have special requests - she might be able to accommodate you with her next order!

I know, 3 comments now...but I am so sorry that I failed to mention how truly darling that bear is...

Like april said, it is out of oilcloth...no small feat to shape a bear out of it for it's stiffness compared to soft cotton...she worked diligently and without the frustration I displayed...

It turned out just perfect for it!
